Job Overview: The Human Resources Assistant position is designed to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources and AdministrationTeam Leader. The role encompasses a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, compensation and benefits management, employee development, and compliance with local labor laws and DRC policies. The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring that HR processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall well-being of staff and the organization. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism while managing sensitive employee information and supporting various HR initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: advising and assisting the HR and Admin Team Leader and employees on HR-related issues; reviewing and suggesting improvements to HR processes; managing recruitment activities by collecting CVs, arranging interviews, and maintaining recruitment documentation; overseeing compensation and benefits by managing staff payroll information and ensuring timely submission of reports; facilitating employee development through performance appraisals and training opportunities; supporting the onboarding process for new staff; maintaining accurate employee data in HR management systems; and completing monthly HR reports for management. Additionally, the HR Assistant will coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and local labor laws, and may take on administrative tasks in the absence of the Admin Officer.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources management, administration, or organizational development. Technical skills in managing compensation and benefits are essential, along with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in the NGO sector is preferred, and candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with Myanmar labor law is also required, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of HR principles and practices, as well as knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources management or a related field. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing HR processes effectively and efficiently, with a focus on compliance and best practices. Experience in the NGO sector is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the unique challenges and requirements of humanitarian work.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all applications and communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of the local language, Burmese, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local staff and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position is a full-time role based in Sittwe, Rakhine State, Myanmar. The successful applicant will be offered a DRC Regular contract, which includes a 3-month probation period. The contract is renewable based on funding and performance. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment, and the position is classified within Employment Band H, which is a non-management level.
