Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the financial operations of IOM. These tasks include assisting in providing bank information to applicants, responding to inquiries regarding refunds and payments through various communication channels, and identifying service fees. Interns will review the correctness of payments and charges against application fees, issue invoices, and perform daily reconciliations of collected fees and invoices. They will also share daily revenue reports with the finance team for review and posting into the financial management system (WAVE). Additionally, interns will prepare manual revenue receipt forms and ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained. The role may also involve undertaking other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, providing a comprehensive learning experience in financial administration.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the internship must meet several qualifications. They should have a specific interest in migration issues or relevant academic studies, and they must be either enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree program or have graduated within the last 12 months. IOM provides coverage for occupational accidents and illnesses under its Compensation Plan, but interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses.
