Job Overview: The position of International Consultant for Teacher Training is integral to the UNESCO-UNICEF Joint project "Empowering Education in Uzbekistan: Leveraging ICT and Digital Learning for High-Quality and Inclusive Education Results." This project aims to enhance educational outcomes for vulnerable children in Uzbekistan, particularly in rural areas and for girls. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and delivering training modules based on the Uzbekistan ICT and AI Competency Framework for Teachers. The role involves collaborating with local partners and national institutions to ensure that the training provided is aligned with international best practices and meets the needs of the local education system. The consultant will work closely with national trainers to develop and deliver three integrated training modules, focusing on equipping mentor teachers with the necessary skills to effectively integrate ICT and AI tools into their teaching practices. The overarching goal is to strengthen the professional development of teachers and improve the quality of education for all students in Uzbekistan.
Duties and Responsibilities: The International Consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Reviewing and providing feedback on training module descriptions and session outlines prepared by the Lead International Expert.
Participating in online coordination and orientation sessions prior to in-country delivery.
Delivering three 3-day training modules for three groups of mentor teachers, each consisting of approximately 20 participants.
Facilitating active, learner-centered sessions using adult-education methodologies.
Providing feedback and reflection notes after each training round, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Contributing to the continuous enhancement of training materials and methodologies.
Ensuring methodological coherence and consistency across all training modules and groups.
Encouraging professional exchange and peer learning among trainers. 1
Fostering collective ownership and a unified approach to adult learning.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in education, digital technologies, natural sciences, or a related field. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training is required, along with at least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator. Proven experience with ICT and digital learning is essential, and familiarity with Central Asia education systems is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in multinational and diverse contexts. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
