Job Overview: The Human Resources Officer position at NRC is designed to ensure the effective implementation of HR functions within the organization. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including managing HR documentation, supporting recruitment processes, and maintaining accurate employee records. The HR Officer will play a crucial role in onboarding and offboarding staff, ensuring compliance with NRC's HR policies, and generating necessary reports for management and auditors. This position requires a proactive approach to improving HR workflows and promoting NRC's organizational culture. The HR Officer will also be involved in administrative tasks related to office management, ensuring a safe and functional workspace for all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Officer include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, systems, handbooks, and guidelines.
Implementing the delegated HR function portfolio according to the plan of action.
Preparing and developing monthly HR status reports as required by management.
Updating staff records and files regularly and generating monthly records and reports.
Supporting audit requirements and ensuring proper filing of documents.
Promoting and sharing ideas for the improvement of the HR function.
Preparing, proofreading, and administering employment documentation, including contracts and work certificates.
Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including checklists and related documentation.
Maintaining accurate HR records in NRC People and relevant tracking sheets. 1
Assisting with recruitment processes, including posting vacancies and coordinating candidate screenings. 1
Ensuring compliance with NRC Terms of Employment and related policies. 1
Generating monthly timesheets and staff attendance records. 1
Maintaining continuous filing and archiving of HR documents. 1
Supporting staff enrollment in NSSF and Insurance packages. 1
Managing the overall maintenance of the office building and coordinating repairs and utilities. 1
Managing tenancy contracts for office premises and expatriate housing. 1
Supervising office keepers to ensure cleanliness and organization of office facilities.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Human Resources Officer position include:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in handling Human Resources functions.
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts, particularly in the humanitarian sector.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with impact and respect.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any other related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the principles and practices of human resource management and administration.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in handling Human Resources functions. Candidates should have previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts, particularly in the humanitarian sector, which will provide them with the necessary skills to navigate the challenges associated with HR in such environments.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic, written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.
