Job Overview:

The role involves specialized support to logistics operations, ensuring that food assistance reaches beneficiaries in a timely and efficient manner. The Logistics Officer will coordinate requisitioning and manage the delivery of commodities and supplies to authorized partners, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing excellent client service. The officer will also be responsible for budget monitoring, inventory management, and documentation processing, contributing to the overall operational planning and execution of logistics activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing specialized support to logistics operations and activities; coordinating requisitioning and ensuring timely delivery of commodities and supplies; managing logistics vendors’ contracting activities and performance monitoring; gathering market intelligence and conducting vendor assessments; resolving specialized queries and ensuring timely and accurate resolution of inquiries; preparing and monitoring budgets for all delivery modalities; overseeing inventory management processes; ensuring the integrity of commodity accounting data; analyzing operational pipelines and contributing to assessments and operational planning; managing documentation for logistics operations; conducting research and data analysis; liaising with internal and external stakeholders; supervising support staff; and supporting logistics emergency preparedness and response activities. The officer will also be involved in implementing cash-based transfer modalities and monitoring transport performance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completion of secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area being desirable. The position requires at least 5 years of relevant job experience in logistics or supply chain management. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of logistics operations and possess the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to draft reports and analyze data are essential. Experience in contract documentation preparation and technical business support in corporate systems is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completion of secondary school education. While a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area is desirable, it is not mandatory. Candidates should have a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, which can be gained through formal education or relevant work experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of related job experience in logistics or supply chain management. Candidates should have experience using corporate systems to monitor shipments and pipeline information, as well as experience in analyzing data related to commodities and funds. Familiarity with measuring service providers’ performance against established KPIs and assisting in contract documentation preparation is also important. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to provide technical business support in corporate systems effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in Portuguese and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but it is not a requirement for this role.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as a Service Contract, SC5, and is open to Mozambican Nationals only. The duty station is in Maputo, Mozambique, with the possibility of multiple duty stations.
