Job Overview:
The Associate Education Officer - Knowledge Management and Reporting (KNR) will play a crucial role in supporting the effective implementation of basic education programs under the UNHCR's Educate A Child (EAC) Programme. This position is designed to enhance the impact of education initiatives for refugee children and youth by ensuring robust knowledge management, facilitating continuous learning, and contributing to comprehensive reporting. The KNR will work closely with UNHCR teams, implementing partners, and stakeholders to improve data utilization, documentation, and dissemination of best practices. The role requires a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and collaboration across various country operations, regional bureaus, and global teams, ensuring that effective practices are replicated and lessons learned are documented and shared. The KNR will also be responsible for developing systems and tools to collect and organize education-related knowledge, coordinating the synthesis of field experiences, and facilitating knowledge sharing to support learning and replication of effective practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Education Officer - Knowledge Management and Reporting (KNR) include:
  • Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain systems and tools for collecting, organizing, and storing education-related knowledge, including best practices, lessons learned, and case studies. Coordinate the synthesis and documentation of field experiences and innovations in refugee education. Facilitate knowledge sharing across country operations, regional bureaus, and global teams.
  • Reporting: Collaborate with the education section’s data and evidence unit on data feasibility, quality standards, and collection tools. Prepare timely, accurate, and high-quality education reports, including donor reports and internal updates. Analyze and present education data effectively to inform planning and decision-making.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Work with education, information management, and MEAL teams to ensure reliable data collection. Produce data visualizations and dashboards to communicate project results. Contribute to the design of education assessments and analyze trends against key performance indicators.
  • Communication and Dissemination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to share findings and strengthen coordination. Support the dissemination of project outcomes and contribute to advocacy materials. Manage the team’s online presence and promote project achievements through social media.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement feedback mechanisms to enhance knowledge management and reporting processes. Document and disseminate best practices to inform future projects.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Associate Education Officer - Knowledge Management and Reporting (KNR) position include:
  • Education: A university degree in Education, Social Sciences, Information Management, International Development, Communications, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in knowledge management, learning communities, reporting, and communications, preferably within an international organization or NGO. Candidates with a graduate degree may qualify with 3 years of relevant experience, while those with a Master’s or equivalent may qualify with 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in data management, analysis, and reporting is essential, along with familiarity with monitoring and evaluation practices. Proven experience in managing social media platforms and organizing events is also required.
  • Key Competencies: Strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent communication and writing skills, proficiency in data visualization tools, and project management software. Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and geographies is crucial.
