Job Overview:
The Project Associate (ERS) position is a critical role within the IOM, specifically under the US State Department funded project aimed at supporting victims of trafficking. The Project Associate will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate and the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Officer in IOM Washington, DC. This role involves providing essential support to the project titled 'Fostering Economic security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security through Enhanced Reintegration Support (ERS) for Victims of Trafficking.' Launched in 2022, this project focuses on delivering comprehensive reintegration services to trafficking survivors in Ghana and Nigeria, helping them achieve economic self-sufficiency and social stability. The Project Associate will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including case managers and country offices, to ensure effective implementation of the project’s activities. This includes logistical and administrative support, communication with case managers, and assisting in the development of reintegration plans for beneficiaries. The position requires a strong understanding of counter-trafficking and case management, as well as the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Associate include: responding to general program inquiries from IOM Missions; assisting in compiling donor reports and data inquiries related to the project; communicating with ERS case managers in Ghana and Nigeria; organizing meetings and focus groups; assisting caseworkers with reintegration plans; liaising with the Emergency Victim Assistance project; undertaking travel to Ghana and Nigeria as needed; maintaining confidentiality and integrity of information; alerting supervisors of any non-compliance with SOPs; supporting case management and monitoring efforts; attending relevant meetings and trainings; and performing other duties as assigned. The Project Associate must demonstrate a solid ability to remain professional, impartial, and unbiased during all interactions with beneficiaries and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a high school diploma with five years of relevant working experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Case Management, Social Services, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant working experience. Candidates must possess excellent computer skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Internet usage. Experience in conducting interviews with vulnerable populations and working as a case worker with migrants for at least two years is also required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have either a high school diploma with five years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Case Management, Social Services, or Social Sciences. The educational background should be from an accredited academic institution, ensuring that candidates have the foundational knowledge necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of three years of relevant working experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or five years if they have a high school diploma. Experience should include working with vulnerable populations, conducting interviews, and serving as a case worker with migrants. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in using computer applications relevant to the job.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is required for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of IOM’s official languages is essential, as the organization operates in a multilingual environment. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is a Special Short Term Graded contract with an initial duration of five months, with the possibility of extension based on budget confirmation and background check clearance. The position is classified at Grade G5, with a monthly salary of USD 5,508.3
