Job Overview:
The Project Support Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of projects related to disaster risk management and climate mobility. Under the supervision of the Head of Projects and Partnership in Vietnam and the National Program Officer in Hanoi, the successful candidate will be responsible for various administrative tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of project activities. This includes providing financial support, monitoring project progress, and assisting in the reporting of project activities. The role requires close coordination with project personnel and external partners to ensure that all administrative aspects of project implementation are effectively managed. The incumbent will also be involved in the development of future projects, contributing to research, data compilation, and the organization of information for reports and presentations. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Support Assistant include: assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities; providing administrative coordination for project implementation; liaising with various organizational units and external parties to initiate requests and process administrative actions; researching, compiling, and organizing data for reports and presentations; managing and updating project data and maintaining electronic and paper files; supporting the supervisor in tracking project expenses and updating budget information; drafting correspondence, donor reports, and presentations; following up with partners for inputs to reports and visibility materials; providing logistical support for meetings, conferences, and workshops; undertaking duty travel as needed for field activities; and performing informal translations and interpretations as requested.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited institution, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The role requires a strong understanding of migration issues and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Law. The degree must be from an accredited academic institution recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have experience in supporting liaison with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Experience working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups is preferred, as is experience in emergency relief and recovery projects. Familiarity with the operations of United Nations agencies and international humanitarian organizations is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required for this position, both oral and written. The IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process, which could include written and oral assessments.
