The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is a principal institution of the OSCE, focusing on the human dimension of security, including election observation and human rights advocacy. ODIHR is active across the OSCE area and implements assistance projects in accordance with its mandate, ensuring that all participating States enjoy equal status in decision-making processes.

Job Overview:
The Associate Human Dimension Meetings Officer plays a crucial role within the Human Dimension Meetings Unit of the ODIHR. This position is responsible for the efficient and timely organization of the Human Dimension Implementation Meetings and other related events. The officer will coordinate extensively with various stakeholders, including the Chairperson-in-Office (CiO), OSCE institutions, and delegations from participating States. The role requires a strong focus on planning and organization, ensuring that events run smoothly and effectively engage civil society and other relevant participants. The officer will also be involved in enhancing event processes and systems to improve overall efficiency and participant experience, making this a dynamic and impactful position within the OSCE framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of the First director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of ODIHR, including: coordinating the preparation and organization of human dimension events; overseeing all phases of event planning and delivery; facilitating engagement and participation of civil society and NGOs; ensuring smooth event operations through effective communication; preparing meeting reports and ensuring follow-up actions; enhancing event processes and systems; managing human and financial resources allocated to the Unit; contributing to the development of strategic documents and internal policies; and participating in discussions relevant to the Office's overall mission. This comprehensive set of responsibilities requires a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a second-level university degree in international relations, political science, history, public administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience will be accepted. A minimum of two years of directly related professional work experience is required, with proven experience in organizing larger-scale international political conferences being mandatory. Knowledge of national and international institutions, as well as experience in non-government organizations, is considered an asset. Familiarity with the OSCE's functioning and institutions is highly desirable, along with excellent communication skills in English and a working knowledge of Russian or other OSCE languages.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree (second-level university degree) in a relevant field such as international relations, political science, or public administration. Candidates with a first-level university degree may be considered if they have additional relevant experience that compensates for the lack of a second-level degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience directly related to the responsibilities of the role. Candidates with a first-level university degree must have at least four years of relevant experience. Experience in organizing large-scale international political conferences, particularly those with over 500 participants, is essential. Familiarity with the OSCE's operational framework and previous experience in similar organizations will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills required. A working knowledge of Russian or other languages spoken within the OSCE is desirable, as it will facilitate better engagement with diverse stakeholders and enhance communication effectiveness.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract at the P2 level, with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is approximately EUR 5,600, subject to post adjustment and family status. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Poland, and social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. The organization contributes 15% of the employee's salary to the Provident Fund, while the employee contributes 7.5%. Appointments are typically made at Step 1 of the OSCE salary scale, with potential for higher initial appointments in exceptional cases.
