Job Overview:
The Data Collector position at WFP Djibouti is crucial for the implementation and monitoring of various food and nutrition assistance programs aimed at enhancing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security for vulnerable populations. The role involves conducting surveys and collecting data from beneficiary households to assess the effectiveness of these programs. The selected candidates will be part of a roster of qualified data collectors who can be mobilized as needed for specific evaluations and assessments. This position requires a commitment to accuracy and integrity in data collection, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the WFP monitoring and evaluation team. The role is designed to ensure that WFP can effectively measure the impact of its interventions and make informed decisions based on reliable data.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Data Collectors include:
  • Conducting household surveys to gather data on food security and nutrition status among beneficiaries.
  • Ensuring the quality of data collected by verifying its consistency and completeness on a daily basis.
  • Entering data into designated applications, such as MoDA, and ensuring timely transmission of this data to supervisors.
  • Reporting any challenges encountered during data collection and providing relevant observations to the monitoring and evaluation team.
  • Participating in training sessions to become familiar with WFP's data collection tools and procedures.
  • Being available for mobilization as needed for various assessments and evaluations across different regions of Djibouti.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • At least a high school diploma (Baccalauréat) or a certificate in data collection techniques from INSTAD.
  • Proficiency in French and at least one national language of Djibouti (Afar, Arabic, Somali).
  • Previous experience in conducting surveys is an advantage.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proven ability to use data collection applications on tablets.
  • Immediate availability for data collection assignments is required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a high school diploma (Baccalauréat) or a certificate in data collection techniques from INSTAD. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the principles of data collection and analysis, which are critical for the role of a Data Collector.

Experience:
