In Thailand, PSP has been operational since May 2008, achieving remarkable fundraising results to support refugees and stateless individuals.
Job Overview: The position of Fundraiser is crucial for the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) section of UNHCR in Thailand. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the PSP Officer, leading a small team and developing strategies that align with both the global PPH strategy and the fundraising strategy specific to UNHCR Thailand. The role involves identifying and building relationships with potential partners and donors, including corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). The Fundraiser will be responsible for creating fundraising proposals, enhancing donor stewardship, and monitoring the PPH program's performance. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of refugees by driving fundraising growth and establishing long-term partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Fundraiser will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including leading PPH efforts in Thailand, coordinating a team, and developing a PPH strategy. Key duties include identifying potential partners and donors, contacting them to develop partnerships, providing insights to enhance donor engagement, and developing fundraising proposals. The role also involves monitoring the PPH program, supervising and motivating staff, liaising with global and regional PPH staff, conducting due diligence on potential donors, and ensuring timely issuance of donation confirmations. Additionally, the Fundraiser will attend local meetings and events related to PPH activities and assist in organizing briefings and events for UNHCR donors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree (BA) in communications, marketing, or a related discipline. They should have relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3 years for those with an undergraduate degree, 2 years for those with a graduate degree, or 1 year for those with a doctorate. Experience within the UN system or with an international NGO is desirable. Proven experience in fundraising from corporations, foundations, and philanthropists is essential, along with access to a network of senior management contacts in Thailand. An established network in the private sector fundraising sector is an added advantage.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a university degree (BA), preferably in communications, marketing, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the dynamics of fundraising and communication strategies necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for candidates with an undergraduate degree, 2 years for those with a graduate degree, or 1 year for those with a doctorate. Experience in fundraising, particularly within the UN system or international NGOs, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in raising funds and managing donor relationships effectively.
