Brazil has been a member state of IOM since 2004, and the organization is committed to enhancing its fundraising efforts to support migration and durable solutions activities.
Job Overview: The Public & Private Partnerships Coordinator will play a crucial role in implementing activities related to Public & Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) interventions at the national level. This position is vital for supporting field teams and ensuring that IOM's fundraising strategies are effectively executed. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying opportunities for partnerships, structuring these partnerships, and monitoring the results to contribute to the achievement of institutional objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to engage with individual donors and small enterprises, develop innovative fundraising strategies, and ensure alignment with IOM's institutional priorities. The coordinator will also assist in designing, monitoring, and evaluating pilot projects and initiatives, thereby ensuring that they align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Public & Private Partnerships Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the identification and engagement of individual donors to bolster IOM programs.
Contributing to the development of strategies aimed at fundraising from individuals and small enterprises.
Assisting in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of pilot projects and innovative initiatives, ensuring they align with institutional priorities.
Coordinating partnership activities with field teams to ensure alignment with operational plans.
Developing communication materials, presentations, and proposals for potential donors and partners.
Maintaining a database of partnerships and relevant information to support strategic planning.
Staying informed about trends and challenges in the public and private sectors relevant to migration programming.
Fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective engagement with partners.
Analyzing private sector trends and innovation opportunities applicable to IOM's activities. 1
Performing other work-related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields from accredited universities recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate experience in fundraising campaigns and donor engagement, with a solid understanding of building partnerships with the private sector. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively within a diverse team is essential. Candidates should also have experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring innovative or strategic projects, along with at least three years of experience in individual giving, fundraising, or donor relationship management.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as business administration, Economics, Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations is required. The educational background should be from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
Experience: The position requires at least three years of relevant experience in individual giving, fundraising, or donor relationship management. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in fundraising campaigns and donor engagement, as well as a strong understanding of building partnerships with the private sector. Experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring innovative or strategic projects is also essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and adapt to changing priorities.
Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and advanced English (both oral and written) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of Spanish is considered an advantage. Proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Brazil will be eligible for consideration. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the concerned government.
