Job Overview:
The Web Migration Consultant position is crucial for the Planning and Operations Section of UNICEF's Office of Emergency Programmes. The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate the transfer of content from the current external CCC site to UNICEF's K@U corporate knowledge platform, ensuring compliance with IT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards. The consultant will be responsible for training, uploading existing documents, creating unique pages as needed, and redirecting the current site. This role requires a proactive approach to manage the content transfer process efficiently, given the impending expiration of the current site on December 3, 202
  • The consultant will work closely with the planning and operations team to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the integrity of the information being transferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
  • Conducting training sessions based on recorded materials to familiarize with the content transfer process from the current CCC site to the Knowledge @ UNICEF platform by November 15, 202
  • Uploading approximately 400-500 existing documents from the CCC site to the new platform by December 31, 202
  • Transferring around 300 existing URLs from the CCC site to the Knowledge @ UNICEF platform by December 31, 202
  • Creating and transferring content from existing unique pages on the CCC site to the new platform, including the development of new unique pages as required, and ensuring all guidelines are uploaded appropriately by December 31, 2025.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a specialization in web design and publication, data visualization, and graphic design. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in roles focused on digital publishing, content strategy, or web communications in humanitarian or development contexts, is essential. The consultant should demonstrate strong editorial capabilities, proficiency in digital publishing, and skills in document management and real-time content updates. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is mandatory for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this role includes a degree or equivalent qualification in web design, digital media, graphic design, or a related field. Candidates should have a strong foundation in web development and design principles, as well as experience in content creation and management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in web development, digital publishing, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing content transfer projects, particularly in international or humanitarian contexts, and should be adept at working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in languages relevant to UNICEF's operational regions, but are not explicitly required.

  • The consultant will be required to submit a financial proposal that outlines costs per deliverable and the total lump-sum for the entire assignment. UNICEF will cover any emergent travel costs and daily subsistence allowances if international travel is necessary. Selected candidates must ensure they have valid health insurance coverage and are subject to background checks. The consultancy does not confer staff member status, and consultants are responsible for their tax liabilities. Additionally, candidates must confirm their vaccination status against COVID-19 if they are expected to work on-site or interact with UNICEF's operational environments.
