Job Overview:
The Programme Associate (Social Behavioural Change) position is integral to the Integrated Resilience (IR) team at WFP, focusing on enhancing the uptake of livelihoods programs linked to climate resilience and market access for smallholder farmers, as well as improving nutrition education and practices among school children. The role involves providing both technical and administrative support in implementing activities under the IR portfolio, which includes analysis, coordination, capacity strengthening, documentation, monitoring, and operational support. The Programme Associate will work closely with Programme Policy Officers and will be responsible for facilitating community consultations, developing SBC strategies, and building relationships with local partners to ensure effective implementation of initiatives aimed at improving security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and nutrition in the BARMM region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: assisting in community consultations to identify challenges faced by food-insecure populations; supporting the development and application of SBC strategies; providing technical support for audience-tailored SBC initiatives; building relationships with community members and government partners; co-developing and implementing training modules on food security and nutrition; contributing to reporting and documentation of programs; and supporting visibility efforts through social media and communications. The role also requires monitoring the effectiveness of SBC interventions and providing feedback for future improvements, as well as performing other related responsibilities as guided by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of local cultural practices and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of diverse communities. They should have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish effective working relationships with individuals from various backgrounds. Proactive learning and a willingness to take on new tasks are essential, along with experience in capacity strengthening and facilitation of workshops. Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills are necessary, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, are also required.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. However, a bachelor’s degree in Social or Behavioural Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Communications, or a closely related field is preferred, as it provides a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of social behavior and community engagement.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least six years of relevant experience in project management, coordination, strategic planning, communications, and program implementation within public or private sectors. Experience in designing and implementing SBC activities, particularly community-based interventions, is crucial. Familiarity with national policies related to rural development, food systems, and climate change is also desirable, along with experience in supporting development or humanitarian projects, especially in food security and nutrition.

Languages:
Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Filipino is mandatory. Knowledge of the local language in BARMM is considered an asset, as it enhances communication and engagement with local communities.

This position is a full-time, in-person role based in Cotabato, Philippines, under a Service Contract (SC) for a duration of 12 months. It is open exclusively to Filipino nationals.
