Job Posting Organization: The Asia Regional Health Cluster (ARHC) was established in 2018 with the mission to efficiently deliver grants and manage funds while providing quality pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The ARHC aims to significantly impact the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goal #3, which focuses on good health and well-being. By expanding the population benefiting from UNOPS-managed health-related engagements across the Asia Region, the ARHC portfolio manages the Principal Recipient (PR) Programme of the Global Fund in Asia. The Global Fund has been providing financial support to the Greater Mekong Sub-Region for malaria programs since 2003, and UNOPS has been selected as a PR, responsible for delivering the targets set out in grant agreements in collaboration with selected Sub-Recipients (SRs) from National Programmes, international and local NGOs, and United Nations agencies.
Job Overview: The ICT Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Office (PRMO) - Senior Associate, who reports to the Head of Support Services. The role involves providing efficient and effective ICT management and support to operations in a specified geography. The ICT Assistant will collaborate with UNOPS Programme support colleagues to ensure optimal support. The position encompasses various responsibilities, including workflow and data automation development, web application development, AI integration, and knowledge sharing. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in building data pipelines, maintaining internal web applications, integrating AI tools, and documenting technical processes. The impact of the ICT Assistant's work will directly affect the efficiency and effectiveness of the relevant business unit/project, ensuring timely implementation of services and deliverables, thus enhancing client satisfaction and UNOPS' credibility as a service provider.
Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Assistant will be responsible for several key duties:
Workflow/Data Automation Development and Support: Assist in building data pipelines using automation tools like n8n and Prefect to process project data; clean, transform, and analyze data from various sources; set up error handling, logging, and monitoring for automated flows.
Web Application Development and Support: Maintain and improve the internal web application using HTML/CSS/JS/Python; create dashboards or web components for presenting workflow or analytical data.
AI Integration: Support the integration of AI tools for tasks such as document summarization and report generation; assist in developing no-code/low-code AI/Automation platforms.
Knowledge Building and Sharing: Document code and technical processes; create user manuals; share knowledge and best practices with team members. The effective execution of these duties will contribute to the overall success of the projects and enhance UNOPS' position as a partner in sustainable development.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary school certification with 4 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field with 1 year of relevant experience. Alternatively, a professional or technical diploma with 2 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Required qualifications include proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, understanding of relational databases (especially SQL), and familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Desirable qualifications include programming skills in web development, experience with workflow or data automation tools, and a basic understanding of authentication and secure data transmission methods.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a secondary school certification with extensive relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or a professional/technical diploma with significant experience. A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred, highlighting the importance of a solid educational foundation in technology and systems management.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience if they hold a bachelor's degree, or 2 years if they have a professional or technical diploma. Candidates with a secondary school certification must have 4 years of relevant experience. Experience in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript is essential, along with a solid understanding of relational databases and familiarity with AI tools. Experience with workflow or data automation tools is also desirable, indicating the need for practical, hands-on experience in the field.
Languages: Full working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is considered an asset, which may enhance communication and collaboration within the diverse international environment of UNOPS.
