Job Overview:
The Driver position at the World Bank involves transporting Bank staff to various destinations while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and traffic laws. The role requires a commitment to maintaining the highest security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards for passengers and the vehicle. The Driver will be responsible for routine maintenance and cleaning of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition, and keeping accurate records of trips, mileage, and maintenance. This position is crucial for supporting the operational needs of the World Bank in Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti, contributing to the organization's mission of fostering sustainable growth and improving human capital outcomes in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be tasked with the following duties: transporting Bank staff to their desired destinations while adhering to time schedules and driving regulations; ensuring the security of passengers and compliance with Bank Road Safety guidelines; performing routine maintenance and cleaning of the assigned vehicle, including checking gasoline, oil, water, battery, brakes, signal lights, and tires; conducting minor repairs and maintenance as needed; maintaining records of trips, including time, duration, mileage, gasoline consumption, oil changes, and servicing; delivering the vehicle to maintenance locations and ensuring proper execution of maintenance; making minor purchases and delivering goods from local suppliers as required; and undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Operations Officer or Senior Office Administrator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a High School degree, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. They should have at least six years of driving experience, with a minimum of two years in an international or multinational organization or development context. A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record are essential. Basic English language skills are required, and defensive driving skills training is considered an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate technical proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and possess good knowledge of roadways and traffic regulations, as well as proficiency in using navigation applications for efficient route planning.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a minimum of a High School diploma, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of driving experience, with at least two years in an international or multinational organization or development context. This level of experience is crucial to ensure that the candidate is familiar with the driving regulations and safety requirements in a diverse and potentially challenging environment.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is English, with Arabic also being essential. Proficiency in both languages is necessary to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
