Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst (Private Sector) position is integral to the effective management and implementation of the Surging Women’s Employment Initiative (SWEI) in Egypt. This role focuses on increasing decent employment opportunities for women by improving gender-responsive workplaces and fostering transformative partnerships with the private sector. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the SWEI National Programme Coordinator and will be responsible for implementing the private sector engagement strategy within the EU-funded programme. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and onboarding new Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) signatory companies, providing technical assistance to enhance women's employment, and organizing workshops and training sessions for private sector actors. The Programme Analyst will also contribute to mapping private sector companies to create employment opportunities for women and will play a key role in partnership development and stakeholder coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst (Private Sector) include leading the identification and recruitment of new WEPs signatory companies, particularly focusing on large employers and target sectors. The incumbent will support the implementation of the SWEI Private Sector Initiative at the national level, including the '5% by 2030 Pledge'. They will provide technical assistance to Egyptian companies on implementing WEP Principles related to increasing women's employment, gender-responsive procurement, and transparent monitoring. The role involves conducting company assessments, developing tailored gender action plans, and organizing national workshops and training sessions for private sector actors. Additionally, the Programme Analyst will engage with private sector companies to create employment opportunities for women, build partnerships with business associations and government institutions, and contribute to the establishment of financing incentives for gender-responsive companies. The incumbent will also track and report on private sector results, document case studies, and coordinate closely with the Regional Private Sector Specialist.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in economics, sustainable development, social sciences, or other relevant fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates must have at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting for programmes/projects focused on women's economic empowerment and the private sector. Experience in providing advisory support to the private sector on women's economic empowerment is essential, along with knowledge of women's economic empowerment in the Arab States. Proficiency in using office software packages and web-based management systems is required, and experience in capacity building for government stakeholders and private sector partners is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as economics, sustainable development, or social sciences. A first-level university degree may be accepted if combined with sufficient qualifying experience, demonstrating the candidate's capability to fulfill the role's requirements effectively.

Experience:
The role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes/projects related to women's economic empowerment and private sector engagement. Candidates should have experience in providing advisory support to the private sector and a strong understanding of the economic empowerment landscape in the Arab States. Familiarity with UN operations and experience in capacity building are considered advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of an additional official UN language, such as French, is desirable and would enhance the candidate's profile.
