Job Overview: The Education Information Management Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Education program by managing and analyzing data related to educational initiatives. This position involves ensuring compliance with NRC's policies and guidelines, particularly in relation to data protection and education strategies. The officer will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Education data management system, which includes designing and implementing standardized information flows for monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and analysis, contributing to the overall effectiveness of NRC's educational programs in Gaza. The officer will also be involved in capacity building for project staff, ensuring they are equipped to utilize the Education database effectively and adhere to monitoring and evaluation standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Education Information Management Officer include:
Supporting the development and maintenance of the Education data management system, ensuring standardized information flow for monitoring and evaluation activities.
Designing and rolling out data collection tools and means of verification.
Managing and analyzing data from various sources, ensuring accurate reporting and information flow between NRC teams.
Creating and maintaining relevant databases for project reports, logframes, and donor deliverables.
Developing live dashboards for programmatic reporting and project disaggregation.
Supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes, including conducting spot checks and assessments.
Assisting in the development of data collection methodologies and tools, including digital processes.
Conducting training and capacity building for program staff on the Education database and monitoring and evaluation concepts.
Collaborating with the Education Information Management Officer in the West Bank to maintain the Education Information Management System for Gaza. 1
Undertaking any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Required Qualifications: The position requires the following qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Management or Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably within an international NGO context.
Proficiency in coding questionnaires on KOBO and analyzing data using Excel or Power BI.
Experience working in complex and volatile environments.
Fluency in both English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices, particularly in relief and development programs.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a relevant educational background, ideally holding a degree in information technology, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced education or specialized training in data management, monitoring, and evaluation will be considered an asset, as it demonstrates a commitment to the field and enhances the candidate's ability to perform effectively in this role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in Information Management or Monitoring and Evaluation. This experience should preferably be within an international NGO setting, where the candidate has developed skills in data management, analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with complex and volatile contexts is essential, as it indicates the candidate's ability to navigate challenging environments and adapt to changing circumstances.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, both in written and verbal communication. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, as it can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Gaza and is classified as Grade (05) Step (01). The contract duration is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance. The role is full-time, and the salary and benefits are aligned with the Gaza Duty Station standards.
