Job Overview:
This internship is located in the Conference and General Services Section (CGSS) within the Division of Administration at the United Nations. It is designed for individuals seeking to gain practical experience in various administrative functions related to conference management, general services, host country relations, and catering services. The internship lasts for a minimum of three months and can extend up to six months, depending on the needs of the Division. Interns are expected to work full-time, five days a week, totaling 35 hours, under the supervision of a staff member. The role offers flexibility in working arrangements, subject to certain conditions. Interns will engage in a variety of tasks that will enhance their understanding of the UN's administrative processes and provide them with valuable skills in drafting, research, and data management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a diverse set of responsibilities that may vary based on their individual backgrounds and the needs of the CGSS. Key duties include: assisting in drafting and preparing official documents; attending and summarizing meetings; conducting document, market, and internet research; working on web presentations; compiling statistics; generating various reports and work orders using databases in Excel and SAP; performing data entry and extraction functions; conducting media analysis; evaluating projects; and liaising with other sections of ESCAP and/or other UN entities regarding administrative matters. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential for fulfilling these responsibilities effectively.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they should either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Additionally, candidates must be computer literate in standard software applications and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, along with a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter. Furthermore, applicants should exhibit the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, showing a willingness to understand and tolerate differing opinions and views. Importantly, no prior working experience is required to apply for this internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be in the process of completing a relevant educational program. This includes either a graduate school program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program. The educational background should ideally align with the functions of the internship, providing the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills that can be applied in a practical setting within the UN.

Experience:
