Job Overview: The Project Assistant (CCCM) position is crucial for supporting IOM's efforts to enhance living conditions for crisis-affected populations in Ukraine. The successful candidate will work under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the National Project Officer, with direct supervision from the Senior Project Assistant. This role involves implementing Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) activities, particularly in collective centers, which includes conducting assessments, facilitating focus group discussions, and monitoring project activities. The Project Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all project activities are executed in accordance with IOM's policies and procedures, maintaining financial and administrative integrity, and delivering timely results within budget constraints. The role also requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including local NGOs, to ensure effective project implementation and capacity building for site managers.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant (CCCM) include:
Assisting in the daily implementation and monitoring of CCCM project activities, particularly in collective centers.
Supporting all financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the CCCM projects to ensure compliance with IOM policies.
Conducting field visits to collective centers to identify the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and sectoral gaps.
Facilitating focus group discussions with site managers and community representatives to gather insights and feedback.
Compiling and sharing weekly updates on the status of collective centers.
Maintaining positive relationships with local NGOs and other stakeholders to foster collaboration.
Providing guidance and capacity-building support to site managers as needed.
Communicating regularly with site managers and partners to ensure project implementation aligns with project scope.
Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support project goals.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution with three years of professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of CCCM operations and possess experience in managing multi-sectoral activities, including community outreach and distribution. Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is considered an advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification with significant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, Business Administration, or Engineering. The educational background should be from an accredited academic institution, ensuring that candidates have the foundational knowledge necessary for the role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in a relevant field, particularly in Camp Coordination and Camp Management operations. Experience in managing multi-sectoral activities, including distribution and community outreach, is essential. Previous work with non-governmental organizations or international organizations will be viewed favorably, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational context and challenges faced in humanitarian settings.
Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian and English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication with stakeholders, community members, and project partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: The position is subject to local recruitment, meaning only candidates with a valid residence and work permit for Ukraine will be considered. The offer is contingent upon funding confirmation, and the selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months. Candidates must also be certified as medically fit for appointment, and their residency, visa, and other authorizations will be verified as applicable.
