Job Overview: The Foundations and Philanthropy Advisor for the US will play a crucial role in identifying, recruiting, and managing funding sources from US foundations and philanthropists. This position requires a strategic and dynamic individual who can align funding opportunities with NRC's priorities and policies while ensuring compliance with US laws. The advisor will work closely with the NRC USA director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Executive Director and the Private Sector Partnership section to develop and implement strategies for corporate and private foundation relationships. The role involves engaging with C-suite leaders to promote NRC's programs and secure funding commitments, as well as mentoring other teams to enhance their engagement with private partnerships. The advisor will be responsible for delivering on fundraising targets and promoting NRC partnerships through various channels, including case studies and events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a diverse portfolio of global fundraising partnerships with private organizations, foundations, and philanthropists.
Collaborate with NRC and NRC USA teams to understand strategies and identify how private partnerships can contribute resources.
Generate innovative funding opportunities and engage potential partners, ensuring alignment with NRC's needs.
Conduct one-on-one engagements with C-suite leaders to explain NRC's programs and secure funding commitments.
Mentor teams across NRC to enhance their ability to engage with private partnerships.
Achieve fundraising targets set for the role.
Promote NRC and NRC USA partnerships through various means, including sharing success stories and participating in events.
Required Qualifications:
Proven professional experience in business development, corporate partnerships, or social impact, preferably in the US.
Extensive knowledge of US-based corporates, foundations, and individual philanthropists.
Ability to think flexibly and innovatively to create win-win solutions for NRC and its partners.
Experience in creating and managing partnerships, including project design, relationship cultivation, and negotiation.
Proven ability to engage with senior-level executives and build trust-based relationships.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
Educational Background: A relevant professional qualification in business development, fundraising, or a related field is required. A degree in a relevant discipline such as business administration, nonprofit management, or social sciences is preferred.
Experience: Candidates should have documented experience in business development or fundraising, particularly in the context of corporate partnerships and philanthropy. Experience engaging with senior executives and managing high-level relationships is crucial. The role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures to achieve fundraising goals.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Additional languages may be considered an asset but are not required for this position.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Washington, DC, and is classified as an at-will national contract. The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $103,000, based on NRC's salary scale. Candidates must have permission to work in the US.
