Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position under the supervision of the Data Support Officer is designed to provide students with practical experience in data management and support within the Protection & Neutrality Unit at the Jordan Field Office. Interns will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall mission of UNRWA, particularly in safeguarding the rights of Palestine refugees. The role involves data collection, technical support, and monitoring system management, which are crucial for ensuring accurate reporting and effective program implementation. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in meetings and contribute to the collaborative environment of the team, gaining insights into the operations of a humanitarian organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for conducting data collection from various sources, including Protection staff and program offices. They will assist in improving data quality and accuracy through quality assurance processes. The intern will also provide technical support to field teams, addressing any issues related to software and user profiles. Additionally, they will support the Results-Based Monitoring System by ensuring timely and accurate data collection for reporting purposes. The intern will help coordinate meetings, take minutes, and perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be current students or recent graduates from a graduate program or a bachelor's degree program, with a focus on Information Technology or related fields. While professional work experience is not mandatory, any prior experience in a relevant area will be considered an advantage. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, are essential. Furthermore, applicants must have the legal right to work and reside in Jordan, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of the role and effectively contributing to data management tasks.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required for this internship, any relevant experience in data management, IT support, or related fields will be beneficial. The internship is primarily aimed at students or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in a humanitarian context, and thus, the focus is on learning and development rather than prior work history.

Languages:
A strong command of spoken and written English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is vital in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing the intern's ability to engage with local staff and communities.

This internship is unpaid, and all costs associated with participation, including travel, accommodation, and living expenses, must be covered by the intern. Interns are required to have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage before starting the internship.
