Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position is designed to support UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development by proofreading two 15-page case studies that have been translated from English to Portuguese. Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and proofread two 15-page case studies translated from English to Portuguese.
Ensure that the translations are accurate and convey the original meaning effectively.
Check for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors in the Portuguese text.
Provide constructive feedback on the translations to improve clarity and readability.
Collaborate with the UNDP team to address any questions or concerns regarding the translations.
Submit the proofread documents within the agreed timeframe to ensure timely publication and dissemination of the case studies.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in both English and Portuguese, with strong writing and editing skills in Portuguese.
Experience in proofreading or editing translated documents is preferred.
Familiarity with sustainable development concepts and terminology is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with the UNDP team.
Educational Background: A background in languages, translation, environmental studies, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with relevant experience in proofreading or editing are encouraged to apply regardless of formal educational qualifications.
