Job Posting Organization:
The internship is located within the Knowledge Management Team, SPARK Section of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), which is part of the United Nations. Job Overview:
The Digital Content Designer Intern will play a crucial role in assisting the Knowledge Management Team at ESCWA. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the field of digital content creation and design. The intern will work closely with the team leader and will be involved in various aspects of online course design and production. The primary expectation from this position is to contribute creatively and technically to the development of engaging and informative online courses that align with ESCWA's mission. The intern will be expected to utilize various software tools and artistic techniques to enhance the learning experience and ensure that the content is visually appealing and effectively communicates the intended messages. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, digital media, and the work of the United Nations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: assisting in the design of online courses, preparing storyboards for course production, researching visual identity and branding, creating interactive exercises and scenarios, designing posters and brochures, and producing electronic files such as interactive PDFs. The intern will also manipulate and edit videos, insert voice-overs and scripts, add sound effects, and ensure that the final products tell a cohesive story. Additionally, the intern will utilize After Effects and 3D effects to enhance online products, create infographics to simplify complex information, and assist in other ad-hoc activities as instructed by the team leader. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet several conditions: they must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), or have graduated with a university degree. Additionally, applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, along with a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter. The ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is also essential, as is a willingness to understand and tolerate differing opinions and views. While no previous work experience is required, experience in graphic design or related fields is desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes enrollment in a graduate program or being in the final year of an undergraduate program. Candidates should have a strong foundation in design principles and familiarity with various software applications relevant to digital content creation. This could include graphic design, multimedia production, or related fields, which will help the intern effectively contribute to the team's objectives.

Experience:
While no prior work experience is necessary for this internship, candidates with experience in graphic design, graphic arts, or related fields will be viewed favorably. The internship is designed to provide practical experience, and thus, a willingness to learn and adapt is crucial. Interns should be prepared to engage in a variety of tasks that will enhance their skills and knowledge in digital content design.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Arabic is desirable, given that it is a working language of ESCWA. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in all four areas of language use: speaking, reading, writing, and understanding. Knowledge of French is also beneficial, as it is another working language of the UN.

Additional Notes:
This internship is expected to last for three months and allows for flexible working arrangements, contingent upon written agreement by the receiving entity. Interns must commit to at least two months of full-time work and complete their internship within six months. It is important to note that interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations, and all costs related to travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the interns or their sponsoring institutions. Additionally, interns must provide proof of valid medical insurance coverage for the duration of the internship and submit a medical certificate of good health prior to starting. The United Nations does not charge any fees during the recruitment process, and applicants should be cautious of any requests for personal financial information.
