Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Arab SMEs Summit (ASMES) 2026 and other related events organized by the ESCWA Technology Centre. This position involves extensive stakeholder engagement, management of digital platforms such as the ASMES website and mobile application, and coordination of various activities including pitching sessions, investor engagement, and mentoring programs. The Project Coordinator will ensure that all aspects of the summit are executed smoothly and professionally, contributing to the overall success of the event and the initiatives of the ETC. The role requires a proactive approach to managing tasks, engaging with participants, and facilitating communication among various stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the summit and related programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the management and updating of the ASMES 2026 website, ensuring timely publication and accuracy of participant profiles in both English and Arabic.
Support the implementation and management of the ASMES 2026 mobile application, including user training and monitoring performance.
Organize pitching sessions and innovation showcases by liaising with SMEs and startups, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth delivery of activities.
Plan and implement Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremonies and partnership announcements, including preparation of event materials and communication support.
Facilitate investor engagement activities, coordinating with investors and SMEs to create matchmaking opportunities.
Manage coaching and mentoring sessions, ensuring effective delivery and participant engagement.
Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and service providers to monitor progress against workplans and support the implementation of ETC programs.
Perform any other related administrative and coordination duties as required by the ESCWA Technology Centre.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, Information Technology, Economics, Entrepreneurship, International Development, Event Management, or a related field relevant to programme coordination is required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in project coordination, program administration, and management assistance. Experience in supporting digital platforms and participant engagement is essential, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks and responsibilities in dynamic environments are also required.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Project Management, or Event Management. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the role, particularly in areas related to programme coordination and stakeholder engagement. All candidates are required to submit a copy of their educational degree as part of the application process.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience is required, specifically in project coordination, program administration, and management assistance. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in supporting digital platforms, including user support and monitoring performance. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is required for this position, with a strong emphasis on the ability to speak, read, write, and understand both languages. Knowledge of French is considered an asset, as English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Candidates must demonstrate their language proficiency in all four areas to meet the requirements of the role.
Additional Notes: This position is recruited on a local basis, meaning that the incumbent must have the legal right to live and work in Lebanon. The contract duration is expected to be 3 months, and the position is full-time.
