Job Overview:
The position of Driver / Administrative Clerk is crucial for the successful implementation of the ILO's Transitional Cooperation Strategy for Ukraine. This strategy focuses on three main pillars: investing in people, creating quality employment, and improving labor market governance and social dialogue. The Driver / Administrative Clerk will play a key role in supporting the project team by providing reliable driving services, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the project. The incumbent will be responsible for driving project officials and visitors, managing logistics related to transportation, and providing clerical support as needed. This role requires a high level of discretion, integrity, and responsibility, as the Driver / Administrative Clerk will be interacting with high-level delegations and managing sensitive information.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and reliable driving services to the Project Manager and other authorized personnel.
  • Meet and assist officials and visitors at the airport or railway station, including handling protocol, visa, and customs formalities.
  • Assist in the procurement, shipment, and receipt of project supplies and equipment, including customs clearance.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support, such as typing, filing records, making hotel reservations, and managing correspondence.
  • Assist with IT-related tasks and maintain updated inventory lists of IT and communication equipment.
  • Provide messenger services, including the mailing and distribution of documents and publications.
  • Process requests for visas, identity cards, and driving licenses as per office requirements.
  • Draft security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security clearances for the project and assist in security planning for out-of-duty station missions.
  • Ensure the project vehicle is equipped with mandatory security items and maintain readiness for emergencies. 1
  • Keep records of vehicle use, daily mileage, and gas consumption, and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle. 1
  • Perform additional relevant duties as requested by the Project Manager or ILO director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, as well as skills in minor vehicle repairs, are essential. Certification in basic first aid and fire protection is required, and training in defensive driving is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and reliability in driving.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. Candidates must also hold a valid driver’s license and have knowledge of local driving regulations. Additional certifications in first aid and defensive driving are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience with a proven safe driving record. Experience driving for a UN agency, diplomatic, or international organization is preferred. Additionally, two years of general clerical work experience would be desirable, as it will support the administrative aspects of the role.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and project partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract for one year, starting in September 2025, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance.
