Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer Enumerator will play a crucial role in conducting data collection activities in the field, closely coordinating with the 'Supporting Türkiye’s Efforts for Efficient Migration Management' Project’s stakeholders, including the Presidency of Migration Management (PMM). The Enumerator will be responsible for conducting both quantitative and qualitative interviews with individuals from host and migrant communities. This position requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards throughout the data collection process. The Enumerator will report daily progress to the Team Leader and will be expected to inform them of any issues or incomplete interviews. The role also involves utilizing established mobile data collection tools and submitting daily updates on progress, challenges, and observations. Additionally, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Enumerator will be tasked with conducting interviews in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner, ensuring that all interactions are conducted with sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of participants. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of interviews conducted, reporting any challenges faced during the data collection process, and ensuring that all data collected is handled in accordance with IOM's ethical guidelines. The Enumerator will also be expected to participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance their skills in data collection and analysis. Furthermore, the Enumerator will engage in activities that promote the understanding of volunteerism and contribute to the UNV community by sharing experiences and insights gained during their assignment. This may include writing articles for UNV publications or assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the principles of volunteerism and possess excellent interpersonal skills. A background in social sciences, research methodologies, or a related field is preferred. The Enumerator should have experience in conducting interviews and data collection, as well as familiarity with mobile data collection tools. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit a high level of professionalism and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of their work.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed higher education in social sciences, research, or a related field. Relevant training or certifications in data collection methods or research methodologies will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in data collection, conducting interviews, or working in a research capacity. Experience working with diverse communities, particularly in a migration context, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the local context in Türkiye and understanding of migration issues will be advantageous for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in Turkish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages spoken by migrant communities in Türkiye would be considered an asset, as it would enhance communication and data collection efforts.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer assignment, not an employment position. The UN Volunteer will receive a Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) of USD 645, paid in Turkish Lira, along with private insurance coverage for health, dental, life, and dismemberment. An entry allowance of USD 10 will also be provided. It is important to note that these allowances are not to be understood as a salary or compensation for volunteer work. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials.
