Job Overview:
The Associate position is a critical role within the EBRD, specifically under the Advice for Small Businesses and Star Venture programmes. The Associate will be responsible for leading and contributing to various activities, including the initiation, structuring, execution, implementation, monitoring, and completion of advisory projects. This role requires proactive engagement in business development and the delivery of compliant projects, ensuring alignment with the strategic directions of the SME Finance and Development group. The Associate will work closely with high-growth potential clients to assess their business needs and provide tailored advice and financing solutions to prepare them for investment readiness. Additionally, the Associate will design and deliver non-project initiatives that align with EBRD's strategic priorities, collaborating with partner banks and other stakeholders to enhance the impact of the programmes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including leading the delivery of instruments and activities under the Advice for Small Businesses Programme. This involves ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures, conducting due diligence, and liaising with banking colleagues to identify suitable advisory support for high-growth SMEs. The Associate will analyze clients' financials and growth prospects to structure impactful advisory support. Furthermore, the role includes initiating and leading business development efforts, engaging with external stakeholders, and contributing to portfolio monitoring and reporting. The Associate will also prepare internal and donor reports, implement marketing activities, and ensure maximum synergy between advisory and banking initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, along with strong business and financial analytical skills. The ability to interpret financial accounts and conduct thorough financial analyses is essential. Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required, as well as effective communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Candidates should have strong writing skills, with experience in drafting project proposals and reports being desirable. Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in the local language of operations is essential. Additionally, candidates should be computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance is required. Equivalent work experience may also be considered. Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required, preferably in commercial management consultancy, development institutions, or financial institutions such as banks. Candidates should have a good understanding of EBRD's strategic SME priority areas, including green economy, economic inclusion, sustainable supply chains, and digitalization. Experience working within start-up ecosystems and knowledge of venture financing and innovative support mechanisms for early-stage businesses are highly valued. Familiarity with local business environments and key stakeholders in the consultancy and startup sectors is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in the local language of operations is essential to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for two years. The role is based in Istanbul, Türkiye, and may require travel within the country and internationally.
