Job Overview: The Leaders Group Reactivation & Alumni Network Consultant will play a crucial role in reactivating the GenU Leaders Group and launching a Global GenU Alumni Network. This position requires collaboration with the Innovation Manager and the broader partnerships team to ensure that youth are central to all components of GenU’s Global Solution, Yoma. The consultant will assess the impact of the Leaders Group, develop strategies for alumni engagement, and ensure that youth voices are integrated into the Yoma initiative. The role involves significant stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and the development of communication materials to foster re-engagement with past members and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reactivate the GenU Leaders Group by conducting an assessment of its past impact, mapping previous members, and developing new Terms of Reference.
Create a communications plan to solicit re-engagement from Leaders, including surveys and presentations for onboarding sessions.
Define and launch a Global Alumni Network by compiling a contact list of former members, conducting interviews to understand their needs, and developing a strategy for ongoing engagement.
Assess the alignment of youth needs with the Yoma initiative by reviewing current practices and collecting feedback from youth.
Develop impactful event concepts related to GenU, including concept notes, guest lists, and session plans, and assist in the implementation and debriefing of these events.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree (Masters) in youth development, public policy, international development, or related fields.
At least 5 years of experience in youth engagement, community mobilization, or youth-led governance.
Demonstrated experience in designing or managing global youth programs and partnerships.
Strong understanding of digital platforms for youth engagement.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working with UN agencies, INGOs, or multi-stakeholder partnerships is highly desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Masters) in relevant fields such as youth development, public policy, international development, or related disciplines. Additional qualifications in International Business or International Relations are also acceptable.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in youth engagement, community mobilization, or governance. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing global youth programs and partnerships, demonstrating their ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in another UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader audience.
