Job Overview:
The Security Officer position is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo premises and personnel. The incumbent will be responsible for controlling access to the OMIK premises, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the building, and preventing any unauthorized visitors or potential property damage. This role requires vigilance and quick action in emergencies, adherence to security protocols, and effective communication during incidents. The Security Officer will also operate and monitor various security systems, including VHF radio communication, satellite phones, GPS tracking systems, alarm systems, and CCTV. The position demands active participation in fire drills and emergency situations, assisting in firefighting and evacuation processes when necessary. The Security Officer will coordinate with outsourced security personnel and conduct inspections of the premises to ensure a secure environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Security Officer include: controlling access to OMIK premises, ensuring all personnel carry ID cards, examining visitors and their belongings, acting swiftly in emergencies, guiding staff during security incidents, operating communication and monitoring systems, assisting in security incidents involving Mission members, participating in fire drills, monitoring OMIK property against criminal activity, coordinating with outsourced security guards, conducting random vehicle patrols, inspecting visited locations for security breaches, and performing other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, supplemented by advanced training in physical security and first aid. A valid (B) driving license is required, while a (C) driving license is desirable. Applicants should have at least two years of experience in security and safety, preferably within international organizations. Established experience using Radio VHF is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft applications. Knowledge of CCTV and GPS tracking software is also required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and local languages are mandatory, as well as the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Candidates should demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, integrating a gender perspective into their tasks and activities.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Additional training in physical security and first aid is necessary to ensure the candidate is equipped to handle security-related tasks effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in the security and safety field, ideally within international organizations. This experience should include practical knowledge of security protocols, emergency response, and the use of communication and monitoring systems.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, along with fluency in local languages. Excellent communication skills in both written and oral forms are essential for effective interaction with diverse personnel and visitors.

Additional Notes:
The position is a full-time, fixed-term contract with a monthly remuneration of 792.00 Euro, subject to social security deductions. Social benefits include participation in the OSCE Group Insurance Plan and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are typically made at step 1 of the OSCE salary scale, with the possibility of a higher step based on specific conditions.
