SI has also been instrumental in the fight against cholera in Haiti from 2010 to 2019 and has adapted its strategies to respond to the resurgence of cholera since October 2022, collaborating with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) to ensure rapid responses to cholera alerts and promote community engagement in prevention efforts. Additionally, SI has been influential in the food security sector since 2012, utilizing innovative electronic voucher systems and agricultural recovery activities. The organization also focuses on disaster risk reduction (DRR) and supports municipalities in developing contingency plans and conducting disaster preparedness exercises. SI relies on the technical expertise and experience of its 50 national employees who work closely with vulnerable populations, leveraging its solid understanding of the Haitian context and technical expertise in WASH and livelihoods at both institutional and local levels.
Job Overview: The position of RCO (Reporting and Communication Officer) involves overseeing the production of project reports and other documentation, ensuring their submission to donors or implementing partners. The RCO is also responsible for creating communication tools for both internal and external use within the mission. The role requires assisting in the development of project proposals in collaboration with the Grant Manager. The specific challenges include managing an increasing volume of funding, preparing numerous project proposals, and addressing significant reporting requirements, particularly for UN donors. The team is relatively young and lacks familiarity with grant processes, which adds to the complexity of the role. The RCO will need to navigate a high volume of reporting obligations, especially with UNICEF, and work within a context of underfunding and untrained teams in proposal writing. The RCO will also lead consortium efforts and support local partners while enhancing communication strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The RCO will be responsible for the following duties:
Overseeing the production and submission of project reports to donors and partners.
Developing communication tools for internal and external use.
Assisting in the writing of project proposals in collaboration with the Grant Manager.
Supporting the writing of the HIP 2026 proposal and monitoring discussions with BHA and RRM.
Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements for UN donors.
Engaging in discussions with the Deputy ProjectCoordinator and coordinators regarding partnership strategies and action points for the mission.
Developing a communication plan for the mission.
Supporting advocacy efforts by assisting in the writing and dissemination of advocacy messages related to humanitarian coordination bodies.
Coordinating with external audit focal points regarding potential audits and spot checks. 1
Contributing to the overall mission strategy and ensuring effective communication with local partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a higher education degree (Master's level or equivalent) in a field related to project management. They should have experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally between 0 to 2 years, and experience in a similar position is also preferred within the same timeframe. Technical skills required include the ability to write project proposals and donor reports, knowledge of humanitarian donors and their specific requirements, and training capabilities. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, analytical abilities, proactivity, autonomy, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Educational Background: A higher education degree (Master's level or equivalent) in project management or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage projects and navigate the complexities of the humanitarian sector.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have between 0 to 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for those who have held similar roles in the past. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the dynamics of humanitarian work and the specific challenges associated with project management and reporting in a crisis context.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, while proficiency in English is also required. These language skills are essential for effective communication with local partners, donors, and team members, as well as for the preparation of reports and proposals.

The organization provides a competitive salary starting from EUR 1980 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 75
Solidarity International also covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a work and leave alternation system is implemented, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days accrued for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance coverage, including medical, surgical, dental, and ophthalmological expenses, as well as repatriation costs. The organization also reimburses necessary vaccinations and malaria treatment. The living conditions include secure accommodation in a guest house with individual rooms, located 1 km from the office, and access to amenities such as restaurants and supermarkets.
