Job Overview:
The position of Coordinateur.trice Terrain involves acting as the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director (DP) by delegation for the Metropolitan Area of Port-au-Prince (ZMPP) in managing field activities. The role is crucial as it encompasses project management and security oversight in a volatile environment. The incumbent will propose strategies based on the geopolitical and humanitarian context and ensure their implementation once validated. They will oversee project execution in alignment with Solidarités International's charter and internal procedures, mobilizing necessary resources for effective program management. The role also includes coordinating teams and ensuring their safety within the designated area. Given the unique nature of the Port-au-Prince base, the individual will work closely with the DP and security manager to ensure comprehensive safety for all teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Coordinateur.trice Terrain include:
  • Managing and supervising the implementation of projects, particularly in the areas of WASH and food security, through direct oversight of project managers.
  • Ensuring operational security within the ZMPP and formulating access strategies for new areas.
  • Supporting the development of new project proposals, particularly for HIP 2
  • Collaborating internally to redefine roles and responsibilities with program coordinators, MEAL, support coordinators, and the DP to establish a new operational framework.
  • Contributing to the program strategy, quality assurance, and SERA initiatives in the ZMPP.
  • Strengthening relationships with local and international partners to enhance collaborative efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree and have at least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 3 to 4 years in a similar role. The position requires strong technical skills in humanitarian context analysis, program coordination, human resource management, and security oversight. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate leadership, crisis management, and diplomatic skills to navigate complex environments effectively.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree is required for this position, reflecting the advanced level of expertise needed to manage complex humanitarian operations and lead teams effectively in challenging contexts.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian field, with at least 3 to 4 years in a leadership role similar to that of a Country Director or Field Coordinator. This experience should encompass project management, team leadership, and security oversight in high-risk environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, while proficiency in English is appreciated. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is essential for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3,080, a monthly per diem of USD 750, and coverage for housing and travel expenses. Expatriates also benefit from comprehensive health insurance and a structured leave system, allowing for breaks every three months. The security situation in Haiti is categorized as Level 4, with strict safety protocols in place, including a curfew.
