Job Overview:
The (Associate) Investment Officer for the Global Infrastructure Group (CNGES) at IFC will play a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure equity and mezzanine business across emerging markets, with a particular focus on infrastructure funds. This position is based in Washington DC and requires a candidate with strong technical skills in structuring, negotiating, and executing investments in private equity funds, direct equity, and mezzanine transactions. The selected individual will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the investment team, engaging in business development activities, and assisting senior leadership in strategic initiatives within the infrastructure equity sector. The role demands a proactive approach to monitoring and managing assets from origination to exit, ensuring that the investment strategies align with IFC's broader goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The (Associate) Investment Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting due diligence and structuring investment projects for infrastructure funds globally; performing industry research and participating in business development activities; coordinating the development of investment themes and strategies; actively monitoring the portfolio of infrastructure funds, including reviewing financial reports and preparing internal valuations; participating in meetings with fund managers; managing equity and mezzanine asset management; supporting value creation at investee companies; conducting analyses and modeling of the equity and mezzanine portfolio; and assisting in knowledge sharing and capacity building within the team. The role also involves ensuring quality control of work products and disseminating lessons learned within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the World Bank Group and IFC. A minimum of a master's degree or equivalent from a reputable university is required, preferably with a major in economics, finance, or accounting. An MBA from a leading international institution is considered a plus. Applicants should have at least 4-6 years of relevant work experience in fund investments, equity investments, corporate finance, or consulting. Experience in sourcing, negotiating, and executing equity and mezzanine transactions or investing in private equity funds is essential. A strong network of contacts among infrastructure companies, private equity, and institutional investors is also required, along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a master's degree or equivalent from a reputable university, with a focus on economics, finance, or accounting. An MBA from a prestigious institution is highly desirable and would enhance a candidate's profile for this role.

Experience:
The position requires at least 4-6 years of professional experience in a reputable institution, specifically in areas related to fund investments, equity investments, corporate finance, or consulting. Candidates should have a proven track record in sourcing, negotiating, and executing equity and mezzanine transactions, as well as experience in investing in private equity funds. This level of experience is crucial for effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the role.

Languages:
