Job Overview: The National ProjectCoordinator (NPC) will play a crucial role in the implementation of the ILO's initiatives in Pakistan, particularly focusing on the alignment of national labor standards with international norms. The NPC will be responsible for coordinating the 'Huqooq-e-Pakistan II Activity,' which aims to develop and implement a human rights due diligence legislative framework in Pakistan. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all activities are executed in accordance with the approved work plan and strategic objectives. The NPC will serve as the central point of contact for project planning and execution, collaborating with national counterparts and international partners to achieve the desired outcomes. The role demands strong leadership skills, the ability to foster stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to promoting decent work and human rights in Pakistan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the timely implementation and effective monitoring of the project, providing technical and administrative support in accordance with ILO policies.
Prepare comprehensive work plans and budgets, ensuring timely disbursement and settlement of funds.
Stay informed of project-related developments and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Compile and refine data for planning project activities, considering inputs from partners.
Identify implementation bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions.
Foster collaboration with the ILO Decent Work Technical Team.
Provide technical and policy advisory services to government institutions and social partners.
Advocate for the achievement of SDG 8 targets and promote responsible business conduct.
Perform any other duties related to the project’s objectives as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in social sciences, economics, or a related field. They should have a minimum of one to two years of professional experience in managing programs or projects in social development, with direct engagement with workers' organizations, employers' organizations, and government institutions. Experience in managing similar initiatives in coordination with multiple UN agencies is considered a strong asset. Candidates should also have good knowledge of policies, legislation, and programs related to human rights and due diligence.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a first-level university degree in social sciences, economics, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of labor standards and social development issues that the ILO addresses in its projects.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have at least one to two years of professional experience in managing programs or projects related to social development. This experience should include direct engagement with various stakeholders, including workers' organizations, employers' organizations, and government institutions.
