Job Overview:
In this role, the Database Professional will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting robust database environments, specifically focusing on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. The position requires collaboration with leading Managed Service Providers and technology partners to ensure optimal performance and scalability of cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB, and will be expected to work at the intersection of performance, scalability, and smart automation. The role also involves migrating data from Oracle to Microsoft’s data stack and requires a solid understanding of modern data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and BI tooling like SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS. The candidate should be prepared to engage with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a forward-thinking environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Database Professional will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to: designing and implementing Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database solutions; supporting and maintaining existing database environments; collaborating with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners; working on data warehousing projects involving ETL/ELT processes; utilizing Azure SQL Database and Azure Cosmos DB; managing Oracle DBMS and associated technologies; and developing scripting and automation processes to enhance database performance and reliability. The role will also involve troubleshooting and resolving database issues, ensuring data integrity and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess intermediate to advanced technology certifications in relevant areas, particularly in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle technologies. An entry-level service management certification such as ITIL Foundation is also required. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in database design and implementation, as well as experience working with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners. Familiarity with modern data warehousing concepts and public cloud deployment is highly desirable, along with experience in BI tooling and data migration processes.

Educational Background:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications and specialized training in database management and cloud technologies will be given priority. Continuous professional development and staying abreast of technological advancements in the field are encouraged.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database management, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Experience in cloud database solutions and data migration projects is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of successfully implementing and supporting database environments in a professional setting.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the EBRD member countries, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of 3 years. The role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
