Duties and Responsibilities: The Volunteer Website Developer will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
Website Development & Design: Collaborating with the Communications/IT Team to design and develop a user-friendly website that aligns with the organization's branding and programmatic updates.
Technical Integration: Integrating essential tools and functionalities into the website, such as mailing lists, contact forms, and donation options.
Security & Backups: Ensuring the website's security and implementing regular backup procedures to protect data and maintain website integrity.
Content Management: Assisting in the organization and updating of website content to ensure it remains relevant and engaging for visitors.
Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, content writers, and other online volunteers to ensure cohesive communication and project alignment.
Regular Updates: Providing progress updates to the team through email or project management tools, and participating in virtual meetings for project discussions and feedback.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Volunteer Website Developer position should possess a strong understanding of web development principles and practices. Required qualifications include:
Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with web design principles and user experience (UX) best practices.
Knowledge of SEO and web security standards.
