Job Overview: The Field Technical Specialist will work under the responsibility of the Technical Head of Programme to contribute to the implementation of the Ukraine mandate and the 10-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and impact of projects in Ukraine, which involves a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. The specialist will provide sectorial technical input to the rehabilitation strategy, ensuring that projects align with global strategies and standards. The position also involves monitoring best practices, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with technical propositions. The specialist will play a key role in influencing local networks, advocating for specific themes, and contributing to communication messages that align with global priorities. Additionally, the role includes business development responsibilities, such as leading context analysis and designing new rehabilitation projects, as well as emergency preparedness and response responsibilities during crises.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Expertise: Contribute to the Ukraine Rehabilitation Strategy by providing technical input to the StratOps of the Programmes on rehabilitation, ensuring relevant follow-up. Provide technical support to projects, ensuring they meet strategic and sector standards. Monitor best practices and oversee technical quality within the rehabilitation sector. Ensure compliance with nexus stakes and contribute to the development of research and innovation projects.
Influence: Represent HI’s technical expertise in local networks, contribute to advocacy efforts, and align communication messages with global priorities.
Business Development: Lead context analysis in rehabilitation, design and write new rehabilitation projects, and develop local partnerships with NGOs and institutions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in physical therapy and/or occupational therapy. A minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in the rehabilitation sector within conflict-affected countries. Experience in developing and designing rehabilitation strategies, policies, and guidelines is essential. Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills are also necessary for this role.
Educational Background: A degree in physical therapy and/or occupational therapy is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of rehabilitation and providing effective support to vulnerable populations.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of overall professional experience, with a specific emphasis on 3 years of experience in the rehabilitation sector within conflict-affected countries. The salary starts at 2757€ gross per month, with additional benefits including a per diem of 604€ net per month, a hardship allowance of 500€ net per month, and 25 paid leave days per year. The role also includes a rest and recuperation (R&R) schedule according to the mission level, with housing provided by HI.
