Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director will play a pivotal role in leading the organization's initiatives in Myanmar. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the local context while driving the organization's mission forward. The Country Director will be responsible for overseeing program implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and fostering partnerships with local stakeholders. This role demands a strong commitment to improving health services and advocating for the needs of the communities served. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the regional dynamics and be able to effectively communicate the organization's vision to various audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the organization's programs in Myanmar, ensuring alignment with overall mission and objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the communities served.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and support for the organization's initiatives.
  • Manage the country office operations, including budgeting, financial management, and human resources.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Represent the organization at national and international forums, advocating for health and development issues relevant to Myanmar.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
  • Monitor and report on program progress, challenges, and successes to the senior management team and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in senior management roles within the non-profit or development sector, preferably in health or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the political, social, and economic context of Myanmar.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results-oriented approaches.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in public health, international development, or a related field is required. Additional qualifications in management or leadership are highly desirable.

Experience:
A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience working in Myanmar or similar contexts is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Burmese or other local languages is an asset and will be considered a plus.

Additional Notes:
This is a short-term contract position, with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance. The role is full-time and requires a commitment to working in Myanmar. The organization is open to recruiting internationally, and competitive compensation and benefits will be provided.
