Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in substantive research and analysis of human rights and international humanitarian law issues/events and assess their impact on the human rights situation.
Support the drafting of reports, communications, briefings, statements, and inputs for briefing notes and advocacy materials.
Collect and analyze human rights data and indicators, including gender-specific data.
Review human rights issues, including their gender dimensions, and engage in discussions with Human Rights Officers on integrating these issues into political and humanitarian efforts.
Contribute to the collection and analysis of data, identifying trends or patterns, and provide draft insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports using data visualization methods.
Maintain awareness of current human rights issues, including relevant political and legal developments in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship programme, applicants must be a graduate or enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) preferably in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field. Professional work experience is not required for participation in the internship programme, making it accessible for recent graduates or students.
Educational Background: Applicants must have a university degree or be enrolled in a graduate programme at the time of application. This includes those pursuing a Master's degree or those in their final year of a Bachelor's degree programme in relevant fields such as law, political science, international relations, or social sciences. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the internship, emphasizing the importance of understanding human rights and international humanitarian law.
Experience: No professional work experience is required for this internship position, making it suitable for recent graduates or students who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law.
