Job Overview:
The Result Based Management Officer will play a crucial role in supporting UNDP Pakistan in preparing high-quality, analytical, and results-oriented reports. This position is essential for ensuring that the reports produced meet the required standards of quality and compliance with UNDP policies. The officer will be responsible for editing and proofreading various reports, including annual progress reports and donor-specific reports, to enhance their quality. Additionally, the officer will assist in streamlining the compilation of reports from different sections and departments, ensuring timely submission to maintain and expand partnerships with donors. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and reporting, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, especially during peak reporting periods from August to March.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Improve the quality of reports received at the RMOU for review, including annual progress reports and donor-specific reports.
  • Support the monitoring process and data entry into the Enterprise Risk Management system as directed by management.
  • Assist in the preparation of evaluation work plans, analyses, and proposals for projects and programmes to be evaluated.
  • Manage the Results Management Tool and the Results Management GOAL effectively.
  • Ensure that quality dashboards are current and that data alignment exists between corporate planning systems and programming tools.
  • Generate synthesized data from various programme quality dashboards into different formats, such as reports and analytical snapshots.
  • Assist in planning and executing HACT Audits, including quality reviews of documents.
  • Provide guidance on norms, applications, procedures, and regulations related to results-based management.
  • Facilitate training for operations and project staff on RBM and monitoring and evaluation of program interventions. 1
  • Compile data related to audit and assurance activities and assist in summarizing findings. 1
  • Track the use of RBM tools following corporate mechanisms. 1
  • Follow up with units regarding risk mitigation plans and recommendations from assurance activities, including audits and spot checks.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure the quality of reports. Proficiency in using various reporting and data management tools is essential. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of results-based management principles and practices. Strong communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with different teams and stakeholders. The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines is crucial for this role. Familiarity with UNDP policies and procedures will be an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, public administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an asset and may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the position.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, report writing, or project management. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNDP's operational policies and procedures will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Urdu or other local languages would be an advantage, as it would facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UNV assignment, meaning the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The UNV Field Unit will assist in opening a local bank account for the volunteer. The position may require flexibility in working hours, especially during peak reporting periods, and the candidate should be prepared for a dynamic work environment.
