Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics and fleet management operations related to programmatic activities. This includes overseeing movement tracking, asset management, warehouse and inventory management, procurement tasks, and other logistics-related responsibilities as assigned. The position requires close collaboration with the regional office's senior logistics officer and technical reporting to the Crisis Response (CR) Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that all logistics operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with FHI 360's policies and procedures, thereby supporting the organization's mission to deliver effective humanitarian assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer's duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in procurement tasks as per FHI 360’s Procurement Handbook; liaising with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods; raising purchase requests and managing online receptions; collecting quotations and preparing bid analyses; ensuring accuracy in inventory management; supervising warehouse and fleet management; coordinating with field offices for data recording and updates; maintaining equipment and ensuring proper authorization for material movement; preparing monthly reports on inventory and vehicle status; supporting warehouse management and stock movement; managing fleet operations including vehicle scheduling and maintenance; ensuring compliance with vehicle management policies; maintaining accurate records of fleet operations; and developing tools for efficient planning and movement tracking. The Logistics Officer is also responsible for asset management, including recording and updating the Fixed Asset register, conducting physical counts, and ensuring adherence to asset management guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Logistics Officer position must possess a comprehensive understanding of office equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and procurement standards and practices. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software. The ability to prioritize tasks, work collaboratively with others, and understand blueprints is also required. The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective logistics and procurement management in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience providing logistical support in an office setting. Experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred, and vocational or specialized training in logistics or procurement is desired. This level of experience ensures that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the complexities of logistics management in a humanitarian environment.

Languages:
Fluency in the local language is mandatory, along with excellent proficiency in English. This bilingual capability is crucial for effective communication with local stakeholders and international partners.
