Job Overview: The Individual Consultant will play a crucial role in developing and contextualizing Sport for Protection training materials that align with the existing toolkit and curriculum. This position involves training and mentoring Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) to effectively implement the Sport for Protection (S4P) curriculum in their programs. The consultant will conduct workshops for RLO coaches and key program staff, equipping them with the necessary skills to enhance the psychosocial well-being of participants. The overarching goal is to ensure that RLOs can deliver impactful sports-based activities that promote protection, inclusion, and long-term positive outcomes for refugee communities. The consultant will also provide ongoing mentorship to RLOs, helping them create safe spaces and integrate protection principles into their initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop tailored Sport for Protection training materials based on the existing toolkit and curriculum.
Contextualize training materials in collaboration with Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) in Indonesia.
Conduct training workshops for RLO coaches and key program staff to enhance their understanding and implementation of the S4P curriculum.
Provide ongoing mentorship to RLOs, guiding them in applying the curriculum effectively within their activities.
Assist RLOs in creating safe spaces for refugee children and youth through structured sports programming.
Promote social cohesion and positive experiences among participants through sports initiatives.
Strengthen coaches’ pedagogical skills and ability to foster inclusion, resilience, and teamwork.
Support RLOs in integrating protection principles, safeguarding measures, and gender-sensitive approaches into their sports initiatives.
Ensure that RLOs are prepared to deliver sustainable sports-based activities that have a positive impact on refugee communities.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a strong background in sports programming, psychosocial support, and experience working with refugee populations. The consultant should possess excellent training and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to develop educational materials tailored to specific contexts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with RLOs and participants.
Educational Background: A degree in social sciences, sports management, education, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in psychosocial support, child protection, or sports coaching would be advantageous.
Experience: The consultant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing training programs, particularly in the context of sports for social development. Experience working with refugee communities and knowledge of protection principles and safeguarding measures are highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia or other local languages is desirable but not required.
