Job Overview: The internship offered at HI provides students with the opportunity to evolve within an international organization and participate in the action of Humanité & Inclusion. The internship is designed to support the Emergency Department in monitoring humanitarian crises. Interns will engage in various activities, including context analysis of crises in regions such as Sudan, Chad, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Venezuela, and Colombia. They will also develop a daily press review, write thematic publications on topics like politics and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, and present essential information to team members. In case of sudden changes in context, interns will participate in internal alert processes and potentially follow up on responses, including crisis analysis and humanitarian impact assessments. Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the monitoring of humanitarian crises by conducting context analyses on various regions, developing daily press reviews, and writing thematic publications.
Participate in internal alert processes and follow up on responses in case of sudden changes in context, including crisis analysis and humanitarian impact assessments.
Collect and synthesize humanitarian data from priority contexts, categorize and integrate data into databases, and support analysis, including infographics and mapping of developments.
Assist in the overall functioning of the department by developing internal communication materials, translating documents, taking notes during meetings, and supporting various administrative tasks.
Provide support on different files as needed by the emergency management team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be pursuing a degree in political science, international relations, international solidarity, humanitarian action, or disaster risk management. They should possess strong writing skills, a synthesis mindset, and a passion for current geopolitical issues. Organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities are essential. Educational Background: A mandatory internship agreement must be provided by a French educational or training institution. Candidates should be enrolled in a relevant academic program that aligns with the internship's focus on humanitarian action and international relations.
