Job Overview:
The Technical Advisor position is crucial for ensuring that projects are implemented according to the technical frameworks and standards set by Humanity & Inclusion. The role involves providing guidance and technical support to project leaders and specialists, ensuring that activities align with internal quality standards. The advisor will also be responsible for adapting project documentation to meet global technical standards and norms, contributing to the regular reporting of technical activities, and collaborating with technical partners. Additionally, the advisor will play a key role in project-based technical learning, sharing essential information with global and field technical specialists, and collecting data for project capitalization and scientific documentation. The position also includes responsibilities for training and skills development within the sector, facilitating professional development, and contributing to the technical influence of Humanity & Inclusion in its operational areas. The advisor will be involved in emergency preparedness and response, adapting work modalities during emergencies to ensure effective humanitarian response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project leaders and specialists, ensuring project activities are implemented according to internal quality and technical standards.
  • Adapt project documentation as necessary to align with global technical standards and norms.
  • Contribute to the regular reporting of technical activities, including the collection and analysis of technical data.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with technical partners as delegated.
  • Share essential information with global and field technical specialists and collaborate with technical divisions.
  • Collect data for project capitalization and scientific documentation based on best practices.
  • Implement audit recommendations and ensure technical quality through self-evaluation and participation in project evaluations.
  • Propose research topics and oversee related data collection.
  • Support technical recruitment, training, and skills development within the sector. 1
  • Facilitate professional development through communities of practice and deliver technical training to staff. 1
  • Participate in operational data design, collection, and processing, ensuring alignment with sector guidelines. 1
  • Contribute to writing new proposals for opportunities within the technical scope and represent HI’s technical expertise in networks and with partners. 1
  • Support advocacy efforts and draft project content and proposals relevant to the technical scope. 1
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness actions and adapt work modalities during emergencies to support effective humanitarian response.

Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in occupational therapy.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience, particularly in emergency humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in supervision and working at the primary health center level.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to manage stress and adapt to changing situations.
  • Fluency in oral and written English; proficiency in Arabic is an asset.

Educational Background:
A degree in occupational therapy is required for this position, ensuring that the candidate has the necessary educational foundation to provide technical guidance and support in rehabilitation services.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, particularly in emergency humanitarian settings. Experience in supervision and working at the primary health center level is also essential, as the role involves providing guidance and support to local staff and ensuring the implementation of HI protocols.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local partners and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
The position is an international contract lasting for 3 months, starting from 1st October 202
  • The contract includes social coverage adapted to the context of the mission, such as unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2346€ gross per month, depending on experience, with additional benefits including a per diem of 804 EUR net per month, a hardship allowance of 500 EUR net per month, 25 days of paid leave per year, and 5 days of rest and recuperation every 8 weeks. The position is unaccompanied, with housing provided collectively by HI, and a local package is available for residents in the country.
