Job Overview:
The UNV Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the operational and administrative processes of various projects under the UNDP in Saudi Arabia. This position involves assisting in the execution of project work plans, monitoring project progress, and facilitating communication among program partners. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for organizing project activities, managing documentation, and providing logistical support for meetings and events. This role is essential for ensuring that the Riyadh Municipality can effectively implement its strategic vision and contribute to the broader goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UNV Project Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: organizing operational and administrative processes for project needs, providing daily support for the execution of approved work plans, monitoring project progress, coordinating information exchange among program partners, organizing project activities, providing administrative services for meetings and workshops, managing travel arrangements, maintaining records on asset management, drafting official documents, and supporting other program-related activities as required. The Project Assistant will also be involved in preparing project work plans, compiling progress reports, documenting lessons learned, and supporting the organization of events and training sessions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the UNV Project Assistant position should possess strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. They should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment, as well as creativity in problem-solving. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, particularly in Arabic and English. The ideal candidate should also exhibit professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to the values of the United Nations.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, public administration, business administration, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications or training in project management or administration would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in project support, administration, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is preferred. Familiarity with UNDP processes and procedures would be a significant asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory, with strong writing and speaking skills in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an advantage, particularly if relevant to the local context.

Additional Notes:
This position is a National UN Specialist Volunteer role based in Saudi Arabia. Selected candidates will receive a Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of SAR 14,120.66, an entry lumpsum of USD 400, and access to annual and learning leaves. Volunteers will also benefit from free medical and life insurance, as well as access to various learning platforms. The living conditions in Saudi Arabia offer a unique cultural experience, with a generally safe environment and modern amenities. The role is full-time and may involve occasional travel within the country.
