Job Overview:
The Morobe Development Foundation Inc. (MDF) is seeking four skilled Online Volunteers to assist in the complete rebuilding and maintenance of its organizational website. This website will serve as a primary digital gateway for showcasing community programs, environmental research projects, and international collaborations. The new site must meet modern functionality, accessibility, and user experience standards to effectively communicate MDF's mission and initiatives to stakeholders and partners. Volunteers will work collaboratively to ensure the website is optimized for performance and search engines, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and amplifying MDF's impact in the community and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Online Volunteer for Website Development: Responsible for architecting and developing the complete website structure using modern web technologies, ensuring optimization for search engines and performance, and collaborating with the hosting provider (GoDaddy) to configure servers and domains.
  • Online Volunteer for Front-end Development/Design: Tasked with creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces, developing custom graphics, layouts, and interactive elements, and ensuring brand consistency across all website pages.
  • Online Volunteer for Content Integration: Will migrate existing content and organize new material, optimize content for web presentation and SEO, and collaborate with MDF staff to gather and structure organizational information, including community development programs, research initiatives, and cultural activities.
  • Online Volunteer for Technical Maintenance Coordination: Responsible for establishing ongoing maintenance protocols, monitoring website performance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and coordinating regular updates and backups.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess relevant skills in web development, front-end design, content management, and technical maintenance. Experience with GoDaddy's hosting platform is preferred, along with a strong understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards. Volunteers should be able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with MDF staff and other volunteers.

Educational Background:
A background in web development, graphic design, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or coursework in these areas will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Volunteers should have prior experience in website development, front-end design, content management, or technical maintenance. Experience working with NGOs or in community development contexts is a plus, as it will help volunteers understand the mission and objectives of MDF better.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Additional languages spoken in Papua New Guinea may be beneficial but are not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, allowing individuals to contribute remotely. The duration of the contract is not specified, but ongoing support and collaboration are expected.
