Job Overview:
The Program Assistant position at WFP involves contributing to the design and implementation of automated management document models and data collection templates specifically for the monitoring and evaluation of the endogenous school feeding program. The role requires participation in data collection, analysis, and preparation of management reports to support operational decision-making. The Program Assistant will also be involved in the implementation of school connect initiatives, which aim to improve food availability for beneficiaries through agricultural inputs and capacity-building training sessions. The position demands proficiency in statistical analysis using WFP digital tools and other software such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, and R. The Program Assistant will play a crucial role in developing dashboards, relational databases, and mobile applications to facilitate data dissemination and interaction, ensuring alignment with WFP's policies and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Program Assistant include:
  • Contributing to the design of automated management document models and data collection templates for monitoring and evaluation of the school feeding program.
  • Participating in data collection and compilation, supporting analysis and preparation of management reports.
  • Supporting the implementation of school connect initiatives and improving food availability for beneficiaries.
  • Performing statistical analysis of data from school feeding activities, including the Home-Grown school feeding program.
  • Recording collected data and determining appropriate analysis methods and models.
  • Producing dashboards on school feeding activities, including distribution of data and trends in assisted schools.
  • Designing various databases related to beneficiary schools, food distribution, educational metrics, and sociological factors.
  • Developing mobile applications as required for data interaction and dissemination.
  • Feeding WFP and partner websites with school feeding data and reports. 1
  • Assisting in the revision of monitoring and evaluation standards and processes. 1
  • Elaborating monthly M&E reports and ensuring regular updates of recommendation matrices. 1
  • Reviewing partner reports and providing technical feedback to enhance output quality. 1
  • Ensuring timely updates and reconciliations of relevant databases.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Program Assistant position include:
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, and R.
  • Experience in implementing similar programs and facilitating communication with technical teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Program Assistant position includes the completion of secondary school education. Additional qualifications or certifications related to data analysis, project management, or humanitarian assistance may be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in program implementation, data analysis, or related fields. Experience in the humanitarian sector or with school feeding programs is highly desirable.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in French is considered a good-to-have skill, given the bilingual nature of Cameroon and the potential need for communication with local stakeholders.

The position is offered under a Special Service Agreement (SSA) contract type, with a duration of 6 months. The role is based in Yaounde, Cameroon.
