Job Overview:
The Analyst position at CHAI will support the design and implementation of the Sickle Cell Disease program in Madhya Pradesh, India. This role is crucial for meeting grant objectives related to SCD screening and treatment. The Analyst will engage closely with government officials to drive program implementation and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including developing data collection, monitoring and evaluation tools, and conducting primary and secondary research. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication, as well as the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. The Analyst will also be involved in revising program guidelines, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the program's success. The role demands a commitment to excellence and a strong understanding of the health systems in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in relation to Sickle Cell Disease.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities including: supporting the formulation, design, and implementation of the Sickle Cell Disease program in alignment with government priorities; ensuring the quality of program/project design by incorporating lessons learned and best practices; developing and rolling out data collection tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making; analyzing facility and community-level data to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention; staying updated on new policy developments and preparing briefs for the program's theory of change; supporting demand generation and supply chain management efforts; coordinating project-wide outputs related to execution, implementation, reporting, and compliance; developing presentations and reports for dissemination among partners and stakeholders; and undertaking other responsibilities as needed to ensure the program's success.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as public health, administration, economics, social work, sociology, or management with at least 1+ year of experience. High technical proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word is required, and experience with advanced analytical tools is a plus. Candidates should have the ability to synthesize a broad range of information and prepare compelling presentations and reports. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Hindi are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with the Indian public health system and experience working with government stakeholders will be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or a postgraduate degree with a focus on public health, administration, economics, social work, sociology, management, or population studies. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong academic foundation that supports the analytical and operational demands of the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience for those with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 1+ year of experience for those with a postgraduate degree. Experience in public health, particularly in relation to government programs and health systems, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of working independently on complex projects and solving challenging problems in a fast-paced environment.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with stakeholders and partners is crucial. Additional language skills may be considered an advantage, particularly if they enhance the ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders in Madhya Pradesh.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and involves approximately 30% travel to program implementation sites within Madhya Pradesh for meetings and stakeholder engagement. The role is designed for individuals who are willing to travel extensively within and outside the program geography in India. The Analyst will be expected to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and possess exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills to build strong professional relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
