Job Overview:
The position involves supporting the analysis, interpretation, reporting, and dissemination of data collected by the Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (SNDIF) in collaboration with UNICEF and other partners. The consultant will coordinate with various stakeholders to monitor data collection in states, acquire necessary software licenses for analysis, and assist in statistical analysis of field data. The role is crucial for ensuring that the data collected is accurately reported and utilized to improve nutritional programs in Mexico. The consultant will also be responsible for delivering several key outputs, including monitoring formats, databases, and final reports, all of which must be approved by UNICEF before finalization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the CIPPS, Sistema Nacional DIF, and UNICEF to monitor data collection activities in various states.
  • Acquire the necessary software licenses for data analysis in collaboration with CIPPS, SNDIF, and UNICEF.
  • Assist in the statistical analysis of field data in coordination with CIPPS.
  • Prepare and deliver a final report of findings, including interpretation, discussion, and recommendations to the national DIF, along with dissemination in designated spaces by SNDIF.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all required outputs, including monitoring formats, databases, and reports, with revisions based on UNICEF feedback.
  • Participate in meetings and provide updates on progress and challenges encountered during the consultancy.

Required Qualifications:
  • A university degree (bachelor's) in health, nutrition, statistics, or a relevant field is required.
  • A specialization or master's degree in sciences, statistics, public health, or public administration is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with intermediate English proficiency desirable for reading and writing scientific articles.
  • Excellent report writing and development skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of national contexts regarding food and nutrition is preferred.
  • Strong data analysis and technical report preparation skills, including database management and instrument validation, are required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as health, nutrition, or statistics. A master's degree or specialization in related areas such as public health or administration is highly desirable and will be considered an asset in the selection process.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in statistical data analysis related to health and/or nutrition is required. Candidates should have experience in field data collection and prior experience in preparing technical reports for nutrition projects, including data analysis and results-oriented writing. Ideally, candidates should have at least one published report or scientific article. Experience in measuring weight and height is preferred but not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is required, while intermediate proficiency in English is desirable, particularly for reading and writing scientific literature. This bilingual capability will enhance the consultant's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and access relevant research materials.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy includes four trips during the contract duration and may require attendance at in-person follow-up meetings at UNICEF Mexico's office, subject to prior agreement. All proposals must be submitted independently, with a technical proposal detailing methodology and a financial proposal indicating costs per deliverable. The consultant is responsible for determining their tax obligations and ensuring necessary health insurance and visa requirements are met. Selected candidates must confirm their full vaccination status against COVID-19, as per UNICEF's health and safety protocols.
