Job Overview: The Partnerships Officer, NOB, TA, will play a crucial role in managing strategic donor engagement and resource mobilization processes, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s priorities and protocols. This position is essential for strengthening UNICEF’s partnership portfolio and laying the groundwork for impactful collaborations that deliver lasting results for children. The officer will develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans, contribute to innovative practices, and identify new partnership opportunities. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to monitor trends and analyze data to inform strategic decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans aligned with UNICEF’s strategic priorities.
Contribute to innovative partnership and resource mobilization practices, including public-private partnerships (PPPs) and innovative financing mechanisms.
Identify, pursue, and promote new partnership opportunities by collaborating with UNICEF colleagues.
Expand UNICEF’s network by building relationships with regional development institutions and other key stakeholders.
Maintain a comprehensive database of current and prospective partners.
Monitor and analyze trends within designated partnership areas to identify opportunities and risks.
Manage day-to-day grant activities and serve as the focal point for donor partner queries.
Coordinate inputs from various sections and liaise with UNICEF’s Private Fundraising & Partnerships Division and Public Partnerships Division.
Support the quality assurance process for donor proposals and agreements. 1
Update and enhance donor presentations to improve visual appeal and clarity.
Postgraduate degree in any of the related fields is an advantage.
Minimum 2 years of progressive professional experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, and donor relations, preferably at the international level.
Diplomatic communication and negotiation skills to establish and maintain trusted partnerships.
Current knowledge of development issues and programming policies in international development cooperation.
Knowledge of partnership development and resource mobilization.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with political and governmental processes, particularly in official development assistance.
Educational Background: A university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, International Finance, Public Relations, Media, or Communication is required. A postgraduate degree in any of these fields is considered an advantage, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex issues related to partnerships and resource mobilization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressive professional experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, and donor relations. This experience should preferably be acquired at the international level, either in the public or private sector. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful engagement with diverse stakeholders and the ability to navigate complex environments effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is required for this position. This is essential for effective communication with stakeholders and for the preparation of reports and presentations. While English is mandatory, additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions where UNICEF operates.
